University of Arizona Classics VAP Opening

The Department of Classics at the University of Arizona seeks to hire a highly qualified Visiting
Assistant Professor for the 2012-2013 academic year. The appointment is full-time and
benefits-eligible, and begins on August 13, 2012. This position is neither tenure-eligible nor tenure
track. 

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field by August 13, 2012. The teaching load is three
courses per semester. Preference will be given to a candidate with a record of excellence in teaching. The
successful candidate is expected to teach a combination of undergraduate and graduate Classics
courses, including an advanced Latin prose course, and large enrollment general education Classics
courses. 

The position will remain open until filled and interviews will be conducted by SKYPE.
