social media feeds displayed on digital media

Hi,

I would like to display our library's social media feeds (Facebook, Twitter) on a monitor in the library. I am looking for examples of other libraries that have done this, or something similar. This would require something other than just displaying a browser window with the page on it. I would like something that refreshes the feed automatically. I assume this would require some type of third-party application, but I’m not aware of any examples.

Thank you,
Ken

Can you run tweet deck full screen with various accounts in each column?

Re: social media feeds displayed on digital media

Hi Ken,

I've seen this done at many conferences. I'm not sure what they use, but I'm planning an upcoming twitter conference initiative, so I'd like to see what you end up with. Twitterfall seems to be pretty widely recommended ( http://twitterfall.com/ ) though I'd have to play around with it to see if I fully understand it. This thread has several other recommendations as well:  http://www.quora.com/What-is-the-best-twitter-wall-software-to-use-it-at-a-conference

I have seen a presentation that used hootsuite as a feed. (I imagine tweet deck looks similar though I haven't used it). It works, but it's not as pretty as a dedicated twitter feed display.

Re: social media feeds displayed on digital media

This is easy with Tweetdeck. You can run it standalone. I run it as a
Chrome app, and run that full screen.
