When will multiplayer be enabled?

When will SD support multiplayer? I think human drivers would be much
more challenging (and fun to race against) than the bots..

oh.. and you've done a great job with 2.0 guys..

Agreed on both points.

Since SVN has some network code, further questions might be: How much
has the code been tested? Is the code even worthwhile testing? Or is it
just too immature to consider live testing yet?

Never could get a clear idea about it :-(

Xavier is probably the one who did most tests, yet.

And here are some interesting threads to look at in the archives of the
speed-dreams-devel mailing list at SF.net (do a global search for "network",
and then search manually in the message list) :

2011-01-29 - 2011-02-04 "Development of multiplayer network gaming on Speed-dreams"
2011-01-16 "is network game development in progress?"
2010-08-20 "network on XP"
2009-07-13 "Network Play"
2009-07-21 "roadmap for Network play in sdl-port"

Cheers,

Jean-Philippe.

I'd also add that there were quite a few changes to the 'human' driver
which were not copied to the 'networkhuman', I suggest that somebody works
on re-structuring so that code does not have to be duplicated across the
two.
