FWIW, the proposed roll media name changes are a result of supporting label and large-format (typically inkjet) printers with multiple roll input sources. These types of printers have more modest-sized rolls from several ounces to several pounds and are typically used for shipping and reprographic (photos, posters, signage, etc.) work...
