Bug#507437: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64: Strange message during boot: 'kernel alive ... kernel direct mapping tables up to ...'

Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.26-10
Severity: minor

when I boot my Samsumg Q45 (laptop), I get the following messages at the
_bottom_ of the screen. They remain there until the normal boot messages get
to the bottom of the screen and overwrite them.

Kernel alive
