www.debian.org/devel/developers.loc

Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hello,

www.debian.org/devel/developers.loc points to www.multimap.com to obtain
coordinates for the developer world map. The site no longer provides
this information, so I'd suggest dropping that link.

It might be possible to extract the coordinates from some fields in the
URL the site generates, but that seems non-trivial.

Unfortunately, I don't know of a good replacement.

You're right. Pity, it was a nice service, probably they only offer it
for sale now. Once the CVS access is restored, I will remove the link
and search for a replacement.

After writing the report, a friend pointed me to

	http://www.heavens-above.com/selecttown.asp

It is in the "www.astro.com/atlas/horoskop" category, so it doesn't
offer maps like multimap.com did. I haven't used it extensively, but it
looks good.

Looks like the coordinates came back... :-)

I think it's still worthwhile to include that link.
