Re: soft limits pins
Thinking of soft limits - how difficult would it be to implement soft-limits per tool? This would mainly be applicable for the Z axis so on a mill you can't stuff the cutter into the table or on a lathe you can't stuff the tool in the chuck. That one in particular makes one hell of a mess - BTDT. On a lathe setting the Z+ limit would be handy as well so you can't run into the tailstock. Hitting the tailstock can get very ugly if you are holding a large part. I do a lot of one-offs so as the more safeties the better. The way I see it working is that you jog the tool to within a hair of the danger zone and hit a 'set soft limit' button which stores the position in the tool table.
