Fw: plugging the phone hangs up the computer

Hello,

This question is not related with Gammu but it's related to Linux and
mobiles (before Gammu or somebody connects to mobile).

I'm connecting a Nokia 6120-C using the USB CA-53 (I think) cable to
three computers.

* Computer A:
lsusb stops responding, computer works fine. I need to restart to make
lsusb working again.

This is the USB controller:
00:13.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host
Controller (rev 80)
00:13.1 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host
Controller (rev 80)
00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB2 Host
Controller (rev 80)

Kernel: 2.6.18-6-686

* Computer B:
Computer stops working. Even the LAN connection gets lost (no pings from
outside). If I type lsusb before everything is hanging, lsusb is also
"blocked".

USB controller:
00:0b.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3)

Yes, I will try. I was just wondering if there was some magic USB module
option :-), or if somebody could tell me that somebody experienced this
problem and after updating everything was working fine.

Thanks for your help!

There is no magic option and what you described really looks like
kernel bug...
