Samsung SCH-U706

yes ( one time out of many they did connect but thats all that happened and I tried several more times )

BitPim does not appear to support SCH-U706

I have tried many settings in Wammu but cannot get the phone to communicate with Wammu

I hope the following will give you an idea what channels might work. I have rfcomm.conf configured for all of
these channels and have tried all but I might not have configured Wammu right. Any ideas would be much
appreciated.
Could the phone be locked ?

Do you have enabled Bluetooth support? What is output of 'gammu

Yes it has to be compiled with bluetooth support. You probably don't
have installed libbluetooth-dev (or something similar, depends on your
distribution). Install this package and recompile Gammu.

Another phone ;-). However there is still one chance, can you try
attached patch on Gammu whether it will not help? (Try obex connection)
