LSI MegaCli and SAS6/iR in PowerEdge R200

Hi,

I tried using the MegaCLI 1.01.39 downloaded from
http://www.lsi.com/support/downloads/megaraid/miscellaneous/linux/1.01.39_Linux_Cli.zip
to manage the RAID1 on a SAS6/iR in a PowerEdge R200, but it doesn't
seem to recognize/support the controller:

You might want to try version 1.01.40:

What is the output of
# lspci |grep RAID
and
# lspci -n

If you're using an AMD64 capable CPU try MegaCli64.

I just stumbled over LSIUtil:
ftp://ftp.lsil.com/HostAdapterDrivers/linux/jejb/lsiutil
This supports the Fusion MPT based controllers. Hooray! ;)

It goes really far back into the history of LSI specifically back around
the LSI acquisition of AMI's RAID division. To put it simply, in a lot
of ways they still act like two separate companies with two separate
product lines.

Actually, I think it's mostly because the megaraid and mpt functionalities
are built on rather dissimilar technology.  Anyway, it's less confusing
than Dell's practice of OEM-ing three quite different types of RAID
hardware and calling two of them, from different manufacturers, by the
same general name (PERC), yet calling two of them, from the same
manufacturer, by different names (PERC and SAS x/iR).

What is the right command line tool for those, then? My Dell sales guy
managed to convince me that for a simple 2 disk RAID-1 in some PE1950
III, I would be fine using the SAS 6/iR instead of choosing a PERC...
but for the RAID status monitoring, I need to find the right tool and
create yet another script for the monitoring tool I use :-(

My recommendation? OMSA it works for PERC 3/4/5/6, CERC, and SAS 5/6. No
other tool does that.

Fine if you need a tool that does all that OMSA does, like a Swiss Army
Knife.  Kind of bloated if all you are after is command-line status
checking.  The mptfusion/mptsas CLI tool was mpt-status through the SAS
5/iR, bet it also works with 6/iR.

Confirmed -- it works with SAS6/iR as well :)

Sounds exactly like what I want. Where can I find it? Searching for
mptfusion or mptsas returns only results related to the kernel
modules...
