Linux on Dell PowerEdge Server

OMSA 7.0 + kernel 3.0.17 + Ubuntu Lucid

Anyone here using OMSA 7.0 on Ubuntu 10.04 with a 3.0 kernel ?

This is on a R815 box using PERC 700/800 controllers and we seem to be having a lot of issues trying to make the CLI tools work properly on the system.

Most of the omconfig commands report "Operation not supported. Read, action=XXXXXXX Refer to the documentation for more information." &nbsp ; But the same operation worked fine a couple of hours ago.

There is a work around you need until OMSA is ready for 3.0 kernels it seems:

OMSA 7.0 works with 3.x kernels without any modification. With Ubuntu 12.04, it works with the default kernel. With Ubuntu 10.04.4, installing linux-image-server-lts-backport-oneiric gives me a 3.0 kernel that works with OMSA 7.0.

More specific information about the steps you took and your configuration may help narrow down the problem.
