Hi,
I installed debian testing on my laptop and tried s2ram -f from both X11 and
console.
In both cases it just worked, without any additional options.
$ s2ram
Machine is unknown.
This machine can be identified by:
sys_vendor = "TOSHIBA"
sys_product = "TECRA A8"
sys_version = "PTA83E-0E303LDU"
bios_version = "Version 3.30"
debian lenny (/testing) is using this (debian) version number;
0.3~cvs20060928-7etch1
Let me know if you need more info, I hope this is helpful to make s2ram work
for more people! :)
