Changes at glibc

Hello,
It seems that the glibc steering committee has disbanded
http://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2012-03/msg01038.html
"the direct responsibilities of GNU Project maintainership for the C
Library will be taken on by a smaller team led by Joseph Myers, Carlos
O'Donell, and Roland McGrath", a group that does not include Ulrich
Drepper.
Glibc has certainly seen more changes lately. I wonder whether this
recent volatility is just a passing phase that will settle down, or
will it continue for years?

And more to the point, will glibc remain high quality or will it too be
taken over by designers and taken to that place where Firefox is going?

My opinion.
