Re: Please help!

David,

 Goto http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads.php and
through the link
    Ubuntu Breezy (5.10), 5.0.4, locate the:
 KERNEL_VERSION		Filename
 2.6.12-9-386	hsfmodem_7.43.00.01full_k2.6.12-9-386.deb.zip
 Unpack under Linux with:
 	unzip hsf*.zip
 and install with:
	sudo dpkg -i hsf*.deb
 Subsequently test with:
	sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
At the lines with ; use
$ sudo gedit  /etc/wvdial.conf
to put in your personal information, removing the ; and < > sysmbols
Save and try a dialout with:

$ sudo wvdial

THis initially install only provides 14.4 speed service. There is no
alternative to paying the fee for full speed 56.8 service

Do presently get the the BreezyGCC_3.4_i386.tar.gz from
http://phep2.technion.ac.il/linmodems/packages/smartlink/

You will need its resources later, when you upgrade your kernel and
may have to compile your own drivers.
