my D-Link DWL-122 usb wireless card does is not indentified by drakhardware or drakconnet

my lsusb -v is attached

Is it possible to include a fix in drakconnect to configure the card and detect it properly.
I think it uses the prims2_usb for this device kernel module, but It doesn't work.

this ia a tail -f on /var/log* after i inserted the usb card

Any ideas why i can not make this card work with prism_usb module.

Re: my D-Link DWL-122 usb wireless card does is not indentified by drakhardware or drakconnet

I found out that i have to run these commands to make the card work after is inserted on the usb interface

wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable
wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid="default" authtype=opensystem
ifconfig wlan0 up

can someone give me a clue what is wrong with the mandrake 10.1 scripts
where can I fix this to make sure that every time I insert the usb device I don't have to type those commands.

Actually, maybe you just need to do "service wlan restart"
"hotplugging" is not really supported with these devices.

Thanks that worked. :)

But I need to execute that every time I insert the usb key, otherwise it doesn't work.

Except the first time I put the key after a reboot, this one works without executing the script.

Actually, the hotplug wlan agent should be used for non-pcmcia
devices. In "register" mode, it calls wlan_bring_it_up (defined in
/etc/wlan/shared), which calls wlan_enable, which runs "wlanctl-ng
wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable"

Right, this could be automated, IIRC, there is an hotplug script that
handles that.

Have a look in the /etc/wlan directory, but drakconnect should
automatically configure this ...
What's the content of /etc/wlan/wlancfg-<your essid> ?

that file is not present in that folder.
do I need to create it or should it be created automatic.
