[Bug 12229] [xorg-x11] New: X freezes

User ID: 13250, bugs reported ( fixed, duplicate, invalid), comments.

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=12229

           Summary: X freezes
           Product: xorg-x11
           Version: 6.7.0-3mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P3
         Component: program
        AssignedTo: svetljo <at> gmx.de
        ReportedBy: public <at> b-burkhart.de

X freezes every few minutes.
By attaching an old laptop via nullmodem, pppd and ssh I was able to see that
X uses all the processor speed it can get when freezing. The mouse (USB) and
the keyboard (PS2) aren't usable any more in that case.

From my observations I deduced that it happens more often when rather loaded
interfaces - like the newsgroup trees in knode - are involved. This is my
observation only. Also xmms with a long playlist seems to crash it. The
problem isn't limited to these cases though, I think.

X can only be brought back by doing a "kill -9" on it.

Frustrated cheers ...

There is no error message visible, not even from the "kill -9" in the end.
