Xerox 4 LP Guitenprint driver request

Dear Guitenprint Team

I have access to an ageing but reliable Xerox DocuColor 4 LP PS printer at an arts education institute in London where I teach part time which I would dearly love to use properly with OSX 10.6.8.

MacParc have done some excellent work here:

and we are currently using their driver on both PPC and intel macs using 10.4.11 and 10.5.8 with no problems.

Sadly, when updating to 10.6.8, this breaks the driver, even with these fixes here: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-48419.html&postorder=asc

I'm not a coder and looking at CUPS here, and their custom drivers/options makes me realise this is really not something I should not dabble with.

CUPS seems to be showing a 'dirty file' error, frankly I dont know where to go with this.

HELP!

very many thanks
Graham

There is nothing in the CUPS log that would indicate a failure. This printer should work fine as a PostScript
printer in OS X 10.6.8. My guess is that all you need to do is to change the type of connection. OS X 10.6.8 did
away with AppleTalk. You will need to set the printer up to use another network protocol such as LPR. There
are many, many posts regarding situations like this on the Apple Discussion boards at <https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.6_snow_leopard#/?tagSet=1008>.

You may find that you also have to add the following line to the PPD--
*cupsSNMPSupplies: False
