F10 Schedule Revised

I have published updated schedules based on the great gobby editing
sessions we had this week with the Documentation and Translation teams.
Note each schedule only shows the tasks for that specific team... we
can adjust this if that is confusing:

http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-docs-tasks.html
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-trans-tasks.html

For a view of all combined tasks for all teams:
http://poelstra.fedorapeople.org/schedules/f-10/f-10-all-tasks.html

As I mentioned during the Documentation session, I hope this process
isn't too frustrating. I think it will take a few iterations to make
sure we are all using and understanding the same terminology. There is
probably still some work to be done around the 0-day tasks as someone
pointed out on the translation list.

So next I'm proposing that both Documentation and Translation meet on
gobby and if possible fedora talk (for audio conversation) next week to
work out the remaining points of difference and confusion :)

Thanks again for your patience and I hope this process is helpful.

John

It has ABSOLUTELY been helpful. I will do my best to be at any
meeting next week for more scheduling bashing. I think that we should
probably stick to using the gobby chat window for communication --
even with only 3 people I think Fedora Talk held us back at times.

Sorry for the tangent here - but in what way did it hold you back? I'm
really interested,

Not for technical reasons -- it was more that conference calls that are
essentially, "Let's all do <XXXX>," suffer from everyone talking at once
too much. (And I point that finger *firmly* at myself first and
foremost.) IRC is lower bandwidth but when everyone is doing something
at once, communication is *easier* to interleave that way. For more
orderly meetings, IRC can be less effective -- not always, but
sometimes.

I can not see any deadline date for Installation Guide in trans-tasks.
I am assuming that will be 24-Nov from docs-tasks.
Could you please clarify this?

Can you also change wording for easy understanding?
Current: "Release Notes PO Files completed by Translation."
To be: "Release Notes Translation Deadline"
and
   Current: "Translation Deadline for fedoraproject.org"
To be: "fedoraproject.org (web) Translation Deadline"

I think the following can be change to better expression.
Current: "Translate xxxxx (POT to PO)"
To be: "Drop xxxxx PO files (POT to PO)"

Thanks!

imho, the term "drop" might not be appropriate to represent "(start of) translation task" because
(without context) it might be incorrectly read as "exclusion of PO files".

I think it is 27-Oct to 31-Oct for the Preview of the Installation
Guide. Then it looks like 21-Nov or 20-Nov for the final Installation
Guide. The Preview is a best-effort, we publish whatever is translated
by 31-Oct.

You are correct that those are not explicit in either schedule.

By 21-Oct, translators are quite busy for Software translation.
More time can be spent for GA than PR.
Is any chance to translate IG under Launch phase?

I'd not like to continue...

Hi, I've signed up for translating fedora to galician but I had some
problems and I couldn't even start. I'd like to know how to cancel my fedora
membership.
I'll be very grateful if somebody could tell me how.

Thanks, Gabriel A.
