No I used the Ubuntu repository, so I'm really not sure why I encountered this. Maybe because I upgraded from Dapper to Edgy? Or it might have been a problem similar to the one that caused me to lose linux-restricted-modules on upgrade to Edgy because I commented out the restricted repo by mistake.
