MacGPG2 2.0.18 (alpha 1)

Dear developer list,

Thanks to Roman and Lukas we were able to compile and publish our first MacGPG2 2.0.18 alpha/testing
release. Some notes:

1. This release was tested on four machines only (all 10.7.2).
2. It's a universal 32-bit binary (Intel and PPC!)
3. It has IDEA support
4. It is now using our installation framework

So please provide us feedback (in particular for 10.5 Intel/PPC and 10.6):

 * Installer: https://github.com/downloads/GPGTools/MacGPG2/MacGPG2-2.0.18-1.dmg
 * Signature: https://github.com/downloads/GPGTools/MacGPG2/MacGPG2-2.0.18-1.dmg.sig

Best regards, Alex

System 10.6.8 looks good, too.
Will test 10.5.8 (PPC) tomorrow.

Signing using the GPG Service and my old (1998) IDEA key works.
Great!

That's interesting.

When I sign a mail and it stays in the outgoing folder due to network problems,
it is signed a second time when it is eventually send.

Using a cached passphrase.

GPG Mail says:
[ ] Passphrase merken für: 60 Sekunden
This is not selected.

GPG Preferences says:
Remember passphrase for: 600 seconds (Empty: Use 10 minutes as default value.)

This is irritating.
Shouldn't one of the option be removed?
Or rather: should both options change the same setting?

this is a strange behaviour. Could you please check if you find any error messages in
Console.app?
Also please check if you're running a21 of GPGMail.

I do have

I have installed the christmas release on 10.5.8 PPC.
This did install links to gpg2 but not the binary.

After that I installed the 2.0.18 update which did install the binary.

When I try to sign a file I get:

gpg: Problem mit dem Agenten: No pinentry
gpg: no default secret key: Operation cancelled
gpg: signing failed: Operation cancelled

When I start gpg-agent I get:
gpg-agent: gpg-agent running and available
gpg-agent: failed to remove environment variable GPG_AGETN_INFO from launchd: Socket not connected

Great news! I had it on my to-do lust for the holiday period but will
now delete my source tree instead.

Take care,

Ben

Hi Ben,

before deleting everything maybe you want to have a look at our solution and provide us a bit feedback? See

https://github.com/GPGTools/MacGPG2/blob/buildscript/build.sh

It's work in progress...

Best regards, Alex

Had I been informed in advance of this effort, I would have set aside some time to provide guidance and review.  However, I find that the time I did spend on it over the Christmas period has been wasted.  I did state previously that I would be working on it and asked for feedback.  I also asked for details of the recent meeting which I missed.  Neither was forthcoming nor was I informed of this effort.

At the moment, my paid employment needs to take priority and I do not have time to waste like this.  I am afraid that this group really needs to improve communication if you would like my continued involvement.
