Services page rejects correct login

Hello,

I'm running IMail 2006.23 on a fully patched Windows 2003 server. For
the longest time I've been unable to login to the Services page in
IAdmin. But now I need to in order to troubleshoot another unrelated
problem. I see others have had this problem, but I've tried all the
suggestions I've found on the forums to no avail. Here's what I tried so
far:

-resetting an admin login on the server, then trying the same login I
just reset it to
-logging into the server as an admin then using localhost (still prompts me)
-switching to Anonymous from Windows Authentication in IIS, and vice-versa
-using the hostname or domain name format for login (e.g. hostname\username)
-no permissions errors in Filemon

My settings are in-line with
http://docs.ipswitch.com/IMail2006.23/IMailRelNotes/17288.htm

I also tried setting all the Imail registry keys and directories to full
access for 'Everyone' to test if it was a permissions issue.

Thanks in advance for anymore ideas I can try!

Rob

RE: Services page rejects correct login

Are you on the browser on the server itself?
If so, try a browser on another pc.

RE: Services page rejects correct login

Hi Katie,

Thanks, yes I've tried both a browser on the server itself (RDP'ed in)
and my own local browser. I'm fairly convinced this is some kind of
configuration issue, but I don't know what else I can try.

Block forwarding

We are currently still using Imail 8.22. We have some users that have
setup there work email to forward to their home email accounts. This is
not supposed to be allowed.

Is there a way to block a user from configuring a forwarder, if that
user has access to web-mail.

RE: Block forwarding

Write a batch file and schedule it to run every minute. It should delete forward.ima files. Not pretty but it
would work.

Re: Block forwarding

Tim,

You could always modify the web template and change the input type to
hidden on that field. They would then not see it as an option.

Wouldn't that effectively prevent everyone from using the forwarding
feature, though, including those permitted to do so?

Re: Block forwarding

Not necessarily. You could limit it based on permissions. Similar to
how the option in the admin dropdown are regulated by if you are a
standard user, domain administrator, or server administrator.

As I have said it is strange that the mail reaches ususario <at> tecmate-int.com.

I suppose that is a configuration error in your mail server, or not?

Any Idea?
