Thanks Paul... every hour? every day? Also, is there any recommedations 
for setting options in my.cnf for dbmail? We have a dual xeon server 
with HW raid and 2GB of ram... Postfix and amavis also query the mysql 
server for routing configuration options.

Why not every 5 minutes. Testing imap is cheap, downtime is expensive.
