FW: Spamdyke /Qmail

Currently trying to get Spamdyke configured on Plesk 10.4/Qmail . It works on port 587 but not port 25. Instead we get error messages saying “The server responded: spamdyke 4.2.0+TLS+CONFIGTEST+DEBUG ...etc” in outlook. Has anyone else been able to install this successfully on a similar environment?

Regards,

Doug

Re: FW: Spamdyke /Qmail

Are you sure that there is nothing already bound to port 25?

Looks to me as though you may have an inadvertent -v option in there,
causing spamdyke to spit this info out.

Re: FW: Spamdyke /Qmail

Or the spamdyke command line is malformed in some other way (e.g. the qmail command is missing). You should
be able to see the full message from spamdyke by telnetting to your server on port 25 -- it will print the
error and close the connection.

Re: FW: Spamdyke /Qmail

Thanks for all your help - tried the telnet. Got this response on port 25:

spamdyke 4.2.0+TLS+CONFIGTEST+DEBUG (C)2011 Sam Clippinger, samc (at)
silence (dot) org
http://www.spamdyke.org/

Use -h for an option summary or see README.html for complete option details.

ERROR: Illegal value for option log-level: 2 (must be one of none, error,
info, verbose, debug, excessive)
Connection closed by foreign host.

Was completely fine on 587.

Any ideas?

Yes - don't use 2 as the log level, use "none, error, info, verbose,
debug, excessive" instead ...

Spamdyke / Qmail stopped working

Hi Everyone,

For some odd reason my SpamDyke stopped working. No updates or anything in
the logs. I've tried to troubleshoot with the following
"/usr/local/bin/spamdyke --config-test". Still nothing is showing up in
the logs.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks, Kevin

Re: Spamdyke / Qmail stopped working

Did you check the run file that spamdyke is called at all?
What was the output of the config test?
Did you run any other updates?

Etc. Throw information at us so we can properly debug this :-)

Cheers,
Sebastian

Re: Spamdyke / Qmail stopped working

Sabastian,

Thanks for getting back to me. Are you referring to the executable
spamdyke file?

To be honest I don't know if I even am running the config-test correctly.
Nothing is showing on the mail logs.

I'd love to throw more if I can gather more. I just need help gathering
that data. :)

Thanks, Kevin

Re: Spamdyke / Qmail stopped working

I am currently not on a computer (and a phone is a horrid ssh client) but I am sure you can find the right config
check syntax in the spamdyke documentation. I am sure I saw it in the installation doc at the end.

As for the quail run file post the content of

/var/qmail/supervise/smtp/run

Or similar. Might have typos in there since its from the top of my head :-)

Cheers,
Sebastian

Re: Spamdyke / Qmail stopped working

Well after some very fun research I was able to figure it out. SpamDyke
was installed using Yum and placed the spamdyke in the /usr/bin directly.
When I was trying to get it to work again I was using the
/usr/bin/local/spamdyke within the smtp_psa script.

Now that its calling the proper install location it is working again.
