Sorry if this is too obvious but...
...one thing that confused me initially as a newbie was when you exit song mode back into program mode, the
program ("track") you were last "in" in Song Mode will be the one that you switch to in Program mode - BUT also
so will the volume setting - i.e. if that track was mixed at say 60 volume, you will be in program mode with a
master volume setting of 60 - even if the volume slider is at the top.

Either change midi channels (bank up/down) to one that you had at 127 volume (in that song), or manually
change the volume setting of that midi channel.

At 127 volume with the slider at max, the output is hotter than any other synth I have owned.
