RE: Re: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

Ah – the Roland Ready Strat should be an easy adjustment.

The hex pickup has 2 height adjustment screws on each side. You should use
these to get the distance from the strings to the levels I told you – 1mm at
the low E and 0.5mm at the high E.

After this hardware fix, then go into the Sensitivity adjustment for each
string and now you should be able to get a more “normal” response.

Hope this helps. Tell us how it works out.

Re: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

Made a typo in my last message. It shold say: "...... gauge .052 or more for the low E".

Re: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

When strings get too close to the magnetic hex pickups, the magnetism reduces their movement (the same
applies to normal pickups).

The effect increases with the gauge of the string. So if you use heavy strings, say gauge 12 or more for the low
E, you may want to increase the gap to a fraction more than the Roland recommended 1 mm. Just experiment.

RE: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

The Roland recommended clearance is 1 mm (they provide 1mm gauge with the GK-2a/3). In practice, string
gauge is also a factor. If you use heavy strings, you probably should make the clearance a fraction more for
the low E.

FS Roland U220 Bundle w extra cards, SKB, Alexander Book

Hi All,
I have a Roland U220 Rack Mount Synth Bundle FS. Includes Roland U220, Owners Manuals, Alexander
Publishing Guide, How to Program and Use the U220 and a set of 8 U220 U110 add on sound cards, including all
the orchestra cards and the guitar cards.

Comes already mounted inside an SKB 4 Rack Space Flight Case. The Roland has two card slots so you can insert
two different add on cards at one time.

I will be putting the Roland Bundle up on Ebay this weekend. I have not decided yet what my auction starting
price will be yet. I also have to figure out what the shipping cost would be and hunt for a box to put the SKB
inside, since every shipper uses dimensional weight now, meaning box size is more important than actual
shipping weight.

I will have full info in the ebay listing. The U220 works very well with all midi guitars. The Roland Guitar
Patches are very good and the 220 allows you to stack up to 6 of them at one time, depending on how many layers
the sound has.

Happy Midi Guitars
MidiVox
