Reinstall

I have been using BNR2 for a good number of years. Unfortunately I recently 
had a major hard disk failure and had to reinstall all my programs including
BNR and WindowsXP. After I downloaded all the newsgroups population I then 
subscribed to several newsgroups with no problems. I then downloaded a large
number of headers but not nearly all (I'm still on dial-up) and accessed them
successfully. Now my problem: After turning off my system and then (the next day) starting it again the list
of subscribed groups was there, however,
their contents were gone. There were zero headers in each group. Did I miss
or miss set some control parameter?
