That's the same as running ~/cricket/compile, correct?  I've tried that,
unfortunately :^(

sorry to reply to my own message.  Just running compile will compile the
tree, or do I  have to specify a sub-branch?

No, you only have to run compile. One other thought - how many levels of
directories do you have? If more than one, check you modified the
lowermost Defaults file. Attributes are inherited, if you modified the
top level Defaults file and standard-interface exists in a lower one,
your changes will be over-ridden.
