I think the message it quite correct. Lftp tries to open imgs/slider/01-b.jpg
for writing and gets the error from the server.

I think it's a bit misleading since the message suggests that imgs/slider/01-b.jpg doesn't exists (true but no matter at all) while the "real" problem is related to the imgs/slider/ directory, not the 01-b.jpg file.
