OpenPegasus Future Directions Face-to-Face Meeting September 2012

The OpenPegasus Architecture Team will sponsor a 2 week face-to-face design meeting 17 - 28 September 2012 at the facilities of HP and IBM in Bangalore India. The goal of this meeting is to set OpenPegasus strategy, goals, and priorities and to define designfeature of enhancements for the next several releases of OpenPegasus. Subjects on the agenda for this meeting include: - Define potential feature set for OpenPegasus 3.0 and further releases - Simplify build configuration parameters for OpenPegasus. - Simplify build configuration tools and standardize to open standards - Simplify runtime parameters and extend WEB based administration of the server - Extension of Web based interface beyond just adminstration(debugging, etc.) - Improve OpenPegasus Performance and footprint - Improve support for profiles and use of profiles to manage the CIM Server including: 1)definition of profiles to be supported directly by OpenPegasus 2)simplified generation of providers 3)simpified registration/management of providers and complete profiles - Migration of OpenPegasus to CIM version 3. - etc. In addition to 9 days devoted to the defined agenda, there will be a specific day (Friday 21 September 2012) oriented toward users of OpenPegasus where OpenPegasus developers/users will be specifically invited into the conversation.
