xrdp -0.5 on zlinux

I have a zlinux system (Suse Enterprise Linux 10) on which I have run
xrdp both 0.4x and more recently 0.5 for some time without problems.
However recently something (most probably maintenance) caused a change
that broke it and I cannot figure out what the culprit is. When I
attempt a connection I get the message:
xrdp_mm_process_login_response: login failed

However there are no messages from PAM indicating an authentication
problem of any sort. The xrdp log contains:
[20111028-09:13:21] [INFO ] scp thread on sck 8 started successfully
[20111028-09:13:21] [INFO ] granted TS access to user wcn00
[20111028-09:13:21] [INFO ] starting Xvnc session...

However no session starts and the above login_response message is sent
to the client.

How do I trouble shoot problems related to the starting of an Xvnc session?

Re: xrdp -0.5 on zlinux

Well I did make some progress. It turns out that you get this (rather
misleading) message if you are out of X displays on the system. I
"appear" to be out of them because of a bunch of orphaned entries in
/tmp/.X11-unix/... I removed them (and a couple of Xvnc processes as
well) and was able to connect. I have not figured out how we got into
this situation thought.
