what is Click?!

Hi,
I'm a student in Bristol (UK) researching ideas for my final year project
and I *think* Click might be relevant to the area I'd like to study... only
problem is I can't find out exactly what Click is!! I'm looking at your FAQ
page at http://www.read.cs.ucla.edu/click/faq and it assumes some basic
knowledge about the project I don't have! 

Please can you tell me what it is click does and roughly how it does it? A
quick reply would be much appreciated!

I recommend you read the publications under the Publications section on the
Wiki http://www.read.cs.ucla.edu/click/
