Memory management

Up to 1 GB TS-5.x has a flat memory management model, but above it
gets interesting. I have a test box with 2 GB and the first GB is
managed plainly. From the next GB I get a ~485 MB swap which is fine
(odd number though), but what happened to the rest? Is swap allocated
in lumps that need to fit some metrics?
