The about box on the WinXp version says:

Version 1.0.0pre1 (SVN Rev unknown)

any chances to get:

Version 1.0.0pre1

(well, obviously "Version 1.0.0" for the final version).

Or is mentioning SVN intentional for the release version?

That's because my build machine can run "perl make-version.pl" from bash and
cmd.exe, but fails when run from nmake.

I'd vote to leave it out, at least for stable releases. Does anyone have any
preferences either way?

Most people has no knowledge about subversion, so I suppose the
version should be sufficient. And we do not have more than one
release for each version, so this should not be a problem.

An advantage of leaving it there is that you can tell the SVN revision
the release was made from. The disadvantage is that it doesn't may not
look like a real release with an SVN revision in there. I could agree
with it being either case :).

vlan & dhcp packets

hey folks,

if i'm sniffing between a linksys router and a cisco swtich, and the linksys is on a vlan, shouldn't i be able
to see DHCP OFFERS & REQUESTS that clients are getting from this linksys router? or does vlan tagging hid
them or something?

Re: Wireshark 1.0.0pre1 is now available

Hi,

the 0.99.8 Release Notes mentions that "The Wireshark GUI now supports
RPCAP" but it is disabled by default and it is not enabled in Windows
binary distribution.
Is is a mistake or an intention?
Should now we enable it for 1.0.0?

Tomas
