Getting daily events to pop up automatically each morning

How is this done? We are new to Chandler and have various daily events that we would like to have "pop up" automatically as notifications each morning, rather than having to go into the calendar manually each day.

I've learned by trial and error, that you have to put an alarm on them. I then put them in 'Later', and when the alarm time comes, a little pop-up announces them (sometimes... ) and they move to the 'Now'.

Chandler isn't being supported anymore, so it can be pretty frustrating learning how it works. It works fine for the simple things I want.
