Who created the JaxLUG Facebook page

TSIA, but for those that think we are looking for Waldo, he has been
found. Its time to find out who created the JaxLUG Facebook page. Please

Dangit we can't, Google+ is not released yet. Its on a limited invite
only trial. Go try to join, you end up on a page to keep you posted. Of
which there has been no updates or any info. Google is still adding
features to crush Facebook, but Google+ has not been officially or
publicly released.

So not more JaxLUG Google+ till we can actually. Unless someone can get
the JaxLUG an invite and page. Then go right ahead and knock yourself
out :)

Plus it up....

Great so now the JaxLUG has to have a Google account as well. Thats
probably not a bad idea, for things like Analytics and maybe AdSense and
ads. If the JaxLUG members decided to have advertising on the Wiki.

Which I some what rather advertisers sponsor a meeting vs ads on the
wiki. But could work either way, and if enough revenue cover legal
expenses to reinstate the JaxLUG as a NPO as it was on the past. Though
based on traffic the JaxLUG gets I would not expect much if any in the
form of AdSense revenue.

I might see about creating a Google account for JaxLUG, and then have a
Google+ invite sent to that. But I think they still might be being
selective on invites for now for exclusive purposes ;)

Wow.  We jumped from a mailing list and IRC channels straight into something that was released just last
week?  Now that's leaps and bounds!

My opinion is that the Google feature is way too new, and even Google fails sometimes at implementing
spinoffs.  Facebook has gozillions of members that know how to use it, and it's already infiltrated the
corporate and media environments worldwide.

This is technology, and its all about whats next, whats current is old
news. Social media is only accelerating such things.

We all have opinions and the net is full of them regarding Google+

Yes Google+ is their 3rd attempt at being the social networking king of
the hill. Till someone else knocks you off ;)

That exact same argument could be made about MySpace when people were
just gaining access to Facebook. I can just see the person selling the
concept of buying MySpace to News Corp.

Man if we don't buy this MySpace thing we will so be missing out. If
Time Warner and AOL don't merge, it will be the death of Time Warner.

I wouldn't be creating a Google+ account right now for the UG.  I've heard
that Google will wipe them all out and start out fresh when they are ready
to start adding companies/non-individuals.  It's not Prime Time for that
kind of stuff yet.

Valid argument, and thats provided we can even do anything now. Much
less why bother now if the general public can't join, see the JaxLUG
Google+ page and stuff. Its totally pointless.

However one thing to keep in mind. Google does not really believe in
deleting data. That gets archived and stored at minimum. Its one of my
biggest concerns about putting data out there. No idea of its life span
or uses. Data is extremely valuable and a commodity of the future.

Just look at Apples move with the iCloud, and you already see that with
Amazon's EC2. I have lots of ideas there, but require such resources,
not practical to pursue, less I relocate to Silicon Valley or close to
major VCs, etc.

Google is wiping non-individual accounts, so it does make sense to wait.
 But if any of you individuals still dont have invites, let me know.
