 I just did another reboot with
 
   kern.geom.mirror.debug=3
 
 enabled during the whole process (log attached).
 
 I'm not sure if I interpret the resulting log/messages correctly - but it seems
 to me that just before the machine finally goes down something gets
 delivered (written?)
 to ada1 only:
 
 Jul 21 20:02:27 amazone kernel: GEOM_MIRROR[3]: Request delivered.
 ada1[WRITE(offset=93089627648, length=32768)]
 
 which doesn't appear to be delivered to ada0 and mirror/gm0 - as with
 all the other
 offsets before (they seem to appear in triplets all the time).
