Are you just searching, or are you doing something with the results? If so, which actions specifically?

I browse artists, select an album, and play it many times per day and it doesn’t give iTunes focus.

Re: iTunes Module

I've assigned a keyboard shortcut to search by artist, album and
track. When I type in a search, I hit enter on the result, iTunes is
activated and is given focus and the track plays. If you're able to do
these type of searches without having the OS switch to iTunes, it must
be a misconfiguration at my end. I'll take a look when I get home.

Re: iTunes Module

Just figured it out. I was selecting "Open" instead of "Play." What's
the proper method to make "Play" the default action when conducting
one of these searches? I've tried configuring the pre-existing
triggers, but the information palette tells me the command for any of
these iTunes searches is "Search contents of (null)."

I did some testing and noticed albums, artists and playlist all start in the background, but individual
tracks activate iTunes. After reading this, I checked and sure enough, the first three have Play as
default, but tracks have Open.

In Quicksilver’s preferences, you can drag actions up or down to alter their priority. Just move Play up
above Open. This should be safe to do without screwing up the Open action for other items like applications
and documents. (Play doesn’t apply to them and shouldn’t show up.)

Re: iTunes Module

Yes! This is exactly what I needed! I feel a little sheepish for not
realizing it before, but I appreciate the help nonetheless. Thank you
so much, Rob. Productivity is up 20 percent!
