Regarding the ethernet port led up/down status

Hi All,

When i down the ethernet port from the command prompt, the ethernet
led continue to glow, not off or change the color to amber.

ifconfig wm0 down -> led status green
ifconfig wm0 up -> led status green

PHY: intel's 82578.
Kernel: NetBSD 5.1

Is this expected behavior?
Kindly advice...

Thanks,
Gnana

As the PHY can be shared with the BMC, it would be a bad idea to turn
it off ...
