programmers bookshelf URL

Hello,

I've stepped across the useful WWW page providing a
handy book list for general programming.

http://www.simtec.co.uk/appnotes/AN0017/
A Programmers Bookself

The page is made by a company, SIMTEC Electronics, which
manufactured CATS StrongARM computer years ago, and
being active in the industry. Might be g'd to add URL pointer
somewhere in www.netbsd.org/docs (The page is too large,
should be better sorted out anyway)

It's an OK list, but not a great one. I wouldn't elevate it above
others I've seen. Obvious gaps include automata, parsing, and
relational theory (despite categories for theory and databases).

I might be interesting to construct a Great Books list, something less
unix-centric, for http://www.netbsd.org/docs/books.html or on the
wiki. OTOH it might just end up as the union of all undergraduate
syllabi.
