Devanagari terminal - anyone?

Anyone knows / uses an X11 terminal that can display Devanagari fonts?

I tried mlterm, its latest revision, too, with no luck. Wrote on their
mailing list. Till now no response.

Environment setting LANG=en_US.UTF-8 gave some glimpse of Devanagari,
though it looks quite garbled. Any other environment variables to be
checked?

Also tried gnome-terminal. It shows limited support, that to only with
LANG setting mentioned above.

No luck with urxvt. In fact urxvt documents suggests mlterm for
Devanagari.

Mayuresh.

This page seems to indicate that KDE's Konsole handles it correctly.
