Qube2 Ram Question

This might seem odd, but I know someone on this list will be able to help.

I have a qube2 with 128mb of ram. I just purchased another 128mb from a reputable source, supposedly taken
from and tested with a Qube2. When I install the ram in my Qube2, the system will not boot. 

I am sure I read that the qube2 can take 256mb of ram but can anyone confirm?

I am guessing the memory is faulty, and will have to send it back.

Yeah, it will take 256 meg, this is mine:

Maybe you already know this, but you should try switching the sticks
in their slots and trying only the new one, etc. Sometimes they just
don't work well together.

Thanks for all of the great replies.

I tried the qube2 with just the new stick of RAM. Sure enough it doesn't boot with just that.

I have emailed the supplier, who is sending me out a new stick to try. Hopefully that works!

Yeah, it will take 256 meg, this is mine:

They work with 256Mb.

I'd put it down to one of two things:

1) Dodgey RAM.
2) Caps on your board that are old and not able to keep the additional ram 
powered.

You can test both by swapping the new ram for the old and see if 128mb 
comes up. If not, return to sender. Else, replace capacitors.
