netbsd-5 from a few days ago:

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

file rescue/ls

statically linked, for NetBSD 5.1, stripped

file /bin/ls
/bin/ls: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, MIPS, MIPS-I version 1 (SYSV), 
dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for NetBSD 5.1, not stripped

I can't remember the last time I tried to run something from /rescue...
