5.0 on hp382

I receive a question about 375 and 380, but I only have 382 and 425t.

040 models should also work, but there have been very few reports
about 020/030 models for long years so there might be some botches
on those machines.

Note the GENERIC kernel may require at least 8MB memory
because GENERIC itself is ~3.3MB. For 4MB machines
you might have to build a custom shrinked kernel.

Any tests/reports are appreciated :-)

5.0 install with CD

Hi,

Installing from a miniroot installed on swap. It was not possible to
select packages from cd. The scsi-cd0 was found at boot time and it was
possible to mount the cdrom and copy data from it. I'm wondering why the
install script couldn't find any sets on the NetBSD 5.0 hp300.iso?

Best Regards
Stephan

Hmm, no one has tried miniroot installation since MI SCSI migration?
(sysinst based netbsd-RAMDISK kernel is easier to install)

Could you please the following change?
I guess you can edit /install.md on miniroot environment.

I couldn't follow your notice. I have done the installation according to
the Installation notes

no that is sadly not possible. But I have entered both commands in the
shell:

# dmesg | awk -F : '/^cd[0-9]*:.*cdrom/ { print $1; }' | sort -u
# dmesg | awk -F : '/^cd[0-9]*:/ { print $1; }' | sort -u
cd0
#

That is an improvement :-)
