Joe Prostko, Mike Summers, and I have attended and run the Haiku table at OLF in the last few years. If you search for "ohio linuxfest" on haiku-os.org, you can find write-ups that have been done about the event. Last year I wasn't able to help run the table, but I was able to attend for a few hours. I can't compare to other Linux conventions, but while it's probably not anywhere near as big as SCaLE, it's big enough to be fun and the seminars are always interesting. Lots of great and interesting people, too. It's also free for attenders if they just want to go on the second day of the event. I'd highly recommend anyone wanting to attend to do so. --Jon

Thanks both Matt and Jon for the info. I live near Lansing in Michigan so it's not too far.
Jon - by the way - nice c++ tutorial. I'm making my way through it now..

Hiya Jon! Keep me up to date on the OLF planning this year. If it's only Friday-Saturday I may be able to make it or help out. I'm not sure if I can make it myself this year, so you might want to keep in touch with Joe -- he's heading up the efforts this year. What have you been up to lately? --Jon

I admit I haven't attended any talks at all since I've been pretty table-bound every year thus far. That said, it is a great atmosphere, and if I get a chance to catch a talk or two this year, I'll definitely do it. :) > Also I notice the "event" page also reports to contact Joe Prostko - but I > didn't see an email address. I believe as long as you have an account on haiku-os.org, a hyperlink would show up for my handle on the OLF event page, and then you could send me a private message of sorts. That said, by replying to your message right now you should now know my email address. :) Feel free to contact me about anything, and if you attend I hope to see you there. You can even help run the table if you desire, as that would be appreciated. :) - joe
