This is for the products Instant Image ("II") and the Sun Network Data
Replicator ("SNDR") later renamed as Availibility Suite. Both worked
as a blocklevel Nexus drivers able to intercept blocklevel traffic
between discs and the block driver for snapshotting and replication
via IP much like the Veritas Volume Replicator. For some features see
  http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+avs/
Most interestingly the old SBus Fast Write Cache Cards used the same
technique to reroute block I/O to battery backed ram.

In the past you needed special (=expensive) licenses for each of the
products, so maybe the patches are now also more restricted than basic
Solaris.

Best regards

Yep, according to supporthtml.oracle.com you need the "Software" Entitlement for
Download Access to 123246-07.

Martin.
