Re: [Sansevierias] oh those names again.

From what I can tell, he studied and did quite a bit of  revision of Dracaena in Africa.

Reduced to Aloe!  Good Lord, what next?

Just found this:

It has found evidence that the apparent close relationship between Sansevieria  and  Dracaena
is based on overall morphology but has not taken into consideration palynology and
ontogenetic studies. It is interesting that in  both the morphological and molecular analyses
of Rudall et al. (2000), Dracaena and Sansevieria come out as separate entities. This coupled with the distinctions pointed out
by Nakai (1936), Ojeda et al. (1984) and by Ojeda & Ludlow-Wiechers, 1995) indicate
that the two genera are distinct and should be maintained as such.

That said, J.J Bos, 1998, reduced Sansevieria to Dracaena.  However as the above article by Rudall, et. al. 2000, notes it should remain separate entities.  OY!   Can't they make up their minds!?!?!  Technically, Rudall, as the later author, should be considered "correct,"  if that's the word we want to use.

No arguments.

Does that matter? I suspect it is not popular, like in the famous poem
of Christian Morgenstern (free quote):
"for, they reasoned pointedly,
that which must not, can not be."

Let's not hate on the lumpers - what can you expect from a bunch of highly-derived  bony fish?  :D
