Liverpool LUG meeting with Michael Dorrington - The Free Software Movement and the FreedomBox - Wednesday 6th June 2012
On Wednesday, 6th June 2012, the Liverpool Linux User Group¹ will be meeting. Michael Dorrington will be talking about free software² and discussing the FreedomBox project³ in a talk entitled "The Free Software Movement and the FreedomBox". Michael is an associate member of the Free Software Foundation⁴ and runs Manchester Free Software⁵. We will meet at the Liverpool Social Centre⁶ at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. After the talk, we will venture to a local drinking establishment for beverages and further discussion. Liverpool Social Centre is next door to the News from Nowhere bookshop on Bold Street⁷. To access the centre, press the bell for the basement on the left of the door and someone will come up and let you in. Parking is usually available on Bold Street itself but failing that, there is a car park opposite the Zanzibar Club on Seel Street⁸. Another month and another talk that promises to be stimulating and insightful¹ http://liv.lug.org.uk/ ² http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html ³ http://freedomboxfoundation.org/ ⁴ http://www.fsf.org/ ⁵ http://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:Manchester ⁶ http://www.liverpoolsocialcentre.org/ ⁷ http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.402426&lon=-2.976481&zoom=18 ⁸ http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.402211&lon=-2.979428&zoom=18
