Oneonta Picnic

Just got home from the Oneonta picnic. I think these get better every
time !! Thanks so much to Ed , Riley and Cameron Lorenz for their
hospitality. Nice to see my Saab friends and nice to see a few new faces
as well. 'Mitch" Mitchell drove from Avon, Maine and will have his
beautiful V4 ready to drive to Oneonta the next time. My '63 2 stroker
ran flawlessly both ways. I decided to drive back through the mountains
today, so the car got a good workout on the highway and then in the
hills. A close call with a deer in NH made me appreciate just how well
my drum brakes work !! I could literally count the ticks on the deer
after a panic stop when rounding a curve at 40 mph. It was quite the 8
hour drive.

Re: Oneonta Picnic

If this was a message board I think someone would say, "Please post pics or it didn't happen!" :)
Does anyone have any pictures of the event to share with the group?
I'm glad to hear the 100F heat didn't impact your drive!
People always have great reviews from these events.
I've really got to get to one at some point!

Re: Oneonta Picnic

I put some on Facebook. If no one else here has any, I can put them here if the group wants.

Oneonta Picnic

Thanks Bill, looks like a great turnout!  Our family has been in New England since Friday, lots of Saabs, especially in Boston.  Heading to Maine next where we expect to see more, though perhaps not of the caliber shown at Oneonta.

Re: Oneonta Picnic

Thor,

If you get to Brunswick after a trip to LL Bean's in Freeport look me up. I sell at Goodwin Chevrolet in Brunswick, on RT 1. I'll bring the 96 to work if you give me the heads up.

Re: Oneonta Picnic

Thor, I'll add on to Mike's invite. Any time that you are in Maine in the future, don't hesitate to contact me.
We can show you or point you to some good sights, drives and other activities in the state. There are a lot of
great adventures inland away from the coast. My Sonett would love to have an excuse to cruise. Larry Jewett
