Solved! My apache2 conf.d/gbrowse.conf was not modified by the CPAN update, I only had to correct the alias Alias "/gbrowse2/i/" "/tmp/gbrowse2/images/" hope this helps anyone upgrading from a 2.2x version for the first time cheers!
