Why math matters ...

Hi All,

I think this story answers why mathematics is important to Mills' works.
This is the story of a man who thought he had discovered the "true"
nature of pi.  

First, the story illustrates why it is important to use the right
formula for a physical quantity.  Obviously, in this case using the
wrong formula was the first step to an erroneous result.

Second, after any assumptions and formulas for physical quantities are
introduced, it is crucial that any subsequent or intervening math is
properly executed. 

I think it illustrates why Mills needs to either use the right physical
formulas and do the math correctly, or not use math at all.
